If he left her here, the son would kill her within a few hours. Gritting his teeth, Elias drew the knife from his belt and sliced through the leather binding.

     Then he hoisted her over his shoulder. She was heavy, like carrying a whole sack of grain, but he powered through and threw her across the horse’s back. “Damn it,” he muttered, kicking the res.     The Block fans have been left heartbroken for one couple on the show who always seem to come second in challenges and can’t seem to nab their first win. Emma and Ben, who recently announced they’re expecting their first child, were hoping to win a challenge on Wednesday night with their Hepburn Spa room design, but unfortunately, they came in second place once again, this time behind Sonny and Alicia.

    The pair came second in weeks two, three and four with their kids’ rooms, main ensuite, main bedroom and WIR. But they have also been pipped at the post in things like the clay shooting challenge, the pickleball challenge, the style lounge challenge, and now the spa.

    After being beaten in the spa challenge, Emma joked, “Maybe we just reapply for The Block next year? Just start from scratch.”

    The couple is known as the happiest pair on the show, but the constant near misses have left them feeling devastated and visibly upset.

    “At the end of it all, it’s a competition, and someone comes out on top, and it hasn’t been us yet, but we’ll keep trying,” Ben said as he and Emma shared a tearful hug.

    Tommy Robinson’s ‘Unite the Kingdom’ protest on Saturday so hundreds of thousands take to the streets, and Tommy also called for the dissolution of Parliament in his latest attack on Keir Starmer.

     

    After the events, former Good Morning Britain presenter Piers, 60, took to social media to share his thoughts. On Twitter /X, Piers shared an aerial view of the jam-packed streets.

     

    He wrote: “To condemn all these people who attended yesterday’s @TRobinsonNewEra as far-right thugs is false. Just as it’s false to say they were all a bunch of angelic choristers. Many were there because they genuinely care about their country, failed immigration policies and free speech.”

    However, Tommy, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley, responded by slamming Piers for what he said was “riding the wave”. The 42-year-old reposted Piers’ comment and said: “Don’t try riding the wave you w**ker @piersmorgan.

    “People like you made it impossible for people to speak out with your baseless labels “racist “ Islamophobe” “far right “ you have been part of the problem not the solution.”

    But Piers wasn’t prepared to let the comments go and was quick to continue the bickering. He replied: “Pipe down, Bottle Job. You’re not a wave I ever want to ride.”

    And then, with a proposition for his foe, Piers added: “But if you grow a pair, I’m still up for doing the interview you keep ducking.”

    During Saturday’s rallies, Elon Musk appeared on a big screen with a message. However, he has been slammed for telling a far-right rally that “violence is coming” to the UK.

    The tech billionaire made the inflammatory comments at Tommy Robinson’s “Unite the Kingdom” protest on Saturday, where he also called for the dissolution of Parliament in his latest swipe at Keir Starmer’s Government.

    Business Secretary Peter Kyle said of the rallies: “I thought that they were slightly incomprehensible comments that were totally inappropriate. But what we saw yesterday was over 100,000 people who were expressing freedom of association, freedom of speech, and proving that both of those things are alive and well in this country.

    “A small minority of people who are protesting committed acts of violence against our police for which they should and they will be held accountable.”

    It’s said that between 110,000 and 150,000 people turned out for the rally, while around 5,000 anti-racism campaigners mounted a counter-protest.

    Following the events, Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood condemned violent scenes after protesters clashed with police. She vowed that anyone “taking part in criminal activity will face the full force of the law”.

    Captioning the post, Guy revealed that he had been experiencing unbearable nerve pain in his spine.

    ‘They say it comes in threes. There’s been a lot of highs this year but it’s also been a year where I’ve had to manage a LOT of physical pain,’ Guy wrote.

    Guy added he was pleased the surgery was completed and he looked forward to making a full recovery.

    ‘I am, however, so grateful for the fact that I have been able to have spinal surgery yesterday. I hope it gives me relief and the strength comes back in my arm,’ he wrote.

    ‘My goal is to get all of this sorted and bounce back hard for tour early next year. I’ll get there and I will get it done but wow, in a fair bit of pain right now.’

    The post was met with an outpouring of well wishes from friends and followers including Channel Seven star Larry Emdur.

    ‘All the best buddy, like everything else in your life you’ll smash this… and you’ll have a real-life battle scar,’ Larry wrote, referencing Guy’s 2012 hit Battle Scars.

    It’s certainly been a rough year for Guy, health-wise, with the Australian Idol star kicking off the year with a shocking ski accident.

    Wife Jules took to Instagram in January to share that Guy had torn his calf muscle while skiing, revealing he won’t be taking to the slopes any time soon.

    ‘He’s out. Torn calf. Middle-aged man injury,’ the 45-year-old wrote.

    Jules later shared a rather ‘smug’ photo of herself posing on the side of a mountain while dressed from head to toe in ski gear.

    Then, in May, Guy was rushed to hospital after he suffered another shocking injury that saw him requiring surgery for a ruptured Achilles tendon.

    The incident occurred after Guy teamed up with AFL great and radio host Brendan Fevola to help struggling club Masala Dandenong break a long losing streak.

    The Block‘s Dan and Dani have opened up about the loss of their baby girl.

    The couple welcomed their daughter Billie in December 2024. She passed away 10 days later from complications from the birth.

    At this week’s daily morning meeting, Foreman Dan and Dani spoke to the new Block contestants about what they’d been through as Dani returned to the worksite.

    “I guess most people here would know our journey last year,” Dan began as he marked her return.

    “We only got to spend 10 days with our beautiful girl and we’re very grateful for those 10 days her time was spent in the NICU department at the Women’s Hospital in Melbourne,” he continued. “What they did not only for us but other families, they do whatever is possible to make your time as good as possible.”

    Dani went on: “Unfortunately, it didn’t end in the way that it should have for us. But our time there was really special with Billie.”

    “Getting to know the nurses and doctors at NICU will be probably one of the things we remember forever,” she continued, holding back tears. “It was life-changing in that way as much as it was having Billie.”

    The couple then announced they’ve started a charity called Billie’s Besties, to raise money and awareness for NICUs across Australia and Red Nose Australia.

    “It’s now our primary mission in life to make sense out of this, and support those who supported us,” Dani said. “Their support for us has been just absolutely amazing, and they guide you though something that no one should ever have to go through.”

    The couple have already raised $60,831 of their $100,000 goal and they’ve shared Billie’s story on their charity’s official Instagram page.

    “After three long years, our dream of becoming parents finally came true. Through IVF, we conceived our Billie — a much-wanted and deeply loved baby girl. From the very beginning, she was strong, thriving through pregnancy, and we couldn’t wait to meet her,” the post began.

    “But in the moments before her arrival, everything changed. Billie suffered distress during birth, the cause of which will never be known, and her tiny body was deprived of oxygen for too long,” it continued. “Despite the incredible efforts of the NICU team, the damage was too severe, and our beautiful Billie was unable to survive.”

    The couple shared that the staff at the NICU became like family over the 10 days they spent in the unit.

    “The doctors, nurses, and staff (affectionately known as ‘Billie’s Besties’) didn’t just care for Billie; they cared for us as a family. They held space for our love, our grief, and our need to make memories in the time we had.”
