Chef Gordon Ramsay’s ‘strange’ way of raising children: Not allowed to work in his father’s restaurant, not allowed to inherit property and forbidden to be vegetarian

Although he is the most famous and richest chef in the world, Gordon Ramsay has a very ‘unique’ way of raising his children.

Gordon Ramsay is an extremely famous name in the global culinary world. Not only is Gordon Ramsay a famous chef, he is also a producer and reality TV star of a series of top culinary shows such as Hell’s Kitchen or Master Chef .

Gordon Ramsay

Despite his fame, Gordon Ramsay rarely talks about his private life. Therefore, what he revealed about his family and how to raise children is perhaps surprising compared to what we usually imagine about a family of famous millionaire chefs.

You can work anywhere as long as it doesn’t have to be at dad’s restaurant !

Most people often think that the Ramsay children can completely continue their career and work at their father’s famous restaurant chain. But the truth is quite the opposite, Gordon Ramsay would rather let his children work for another chef than let them work in his restaurant.

In an interview, Gordon admitted: ‘I’m fierce, I’m fair. I get criticized a lot for my straightforwardness and honesty, but I don’t mind that.’

‘For example, I wouldn’t hire my own children. I don’t want employees to think ‘Those are Ramsay’s children, we can’t send them away’. Children want to work in a cutthroat business.’ ‘They have to go see another chef, learn something different and come back with something new to improve the business,’ the famous chef added.

Ramsay’s children will not inherit their father’s huge amount of money

To date, Gordon Ramsay owns a huge fortune, but that does not mean his children can comfortably benefit from this wealth.

The talented chef once revealed: ‘My children will not inherit all of my assets, this is certain. I made that choice because I don’t want to ruin them. The only thing I agree with my wife is My 5 children will get a 25% deposit for an apartment, but not the entire apartment. Instead, I will probably leave my earnings to some charity.’ .

Not enjoying luxury privileges

As a strict father, Ramsay revealed that his children will never travel first class with him and his wife. He said: ‘My children are not sitting with my wife and I in first class. They don’t work hard enough to enjoy it. At their age, do you think they should be sitting in first class? But? Our answer would be no.’

Ramsay continued: ‘Every time I get on a plane, my husband and I turn left into the first class cabin, and the children turn right into the budget cabin. I told the chief flight attendant to make sure the children do not go into this cabin. bother me, I want to sleep while flying. I worked very hard to sit here. In general, you only deserve a privilege once you have put in a lot of effort to get it.’ .

Vegetarianism is prohibited

As a chef and culinary researcher, Gordon Ramsay has a special love for the food he cooks and he always instills sophistication in every meal in his children. There are many taboos in Ramsay’s family, one of which is vegetarianism. He once said: ‘My biggest nightmare is if my children come up to me and say: Dad, I want to be a vegetarian.’

There is no swearing in the Ramsay household

This seems quite contradictory when considering Gordon Ramsay’s hot-tempered personality and fondness for swearing – an image the audience is all too familiar with on television. But for the Ramsay children, they are not allowed to swear.

The chef once said: ‘ Swearing is the language of industry. As long as we are alive, it will not change. Sometimes you have to be hot-tempered and let out rude words to be able to promote work.’ operate better. My children know I say bad things. I say it’s industrial language and speaking that industrial language to children is not allowed.’

It’s not too important about your child’s scores

Ramsay and his wife are not too important that their children get high scores in all subjects on school exams. Because they believe that every child has different strengths and in Ramsay’s case, his strength is cooking.

‘I don’t agree with people being judged as good or bad in an exam. It bothers me because the pressure on young people today is terrible. I was not a brilliant child at my age.’ 15, that’s similar to when I was 12 or 18. Even though I didn’t do well in school, I was very good at cooking. So I’m grateful for the way I was shaped and I think it’s important to develop my own abilities. From 11 years old is very important ,’ the chef explained his point of view.
