  • Scarlett Johansson Reveals Shocking Truth About Working With Robert Redford: “It Was Transformative For Me” – Hollywood Legend’s Unexpected Impact Left Her Forever Changed, Sparking Emotional Confessions Fans Never Saw Coming! – News

Scarlett Johansson’s career has been marked by a wide range of memorable performances, from indie dramas to blockbuster franchises. Yet, among the many influential figures she has worked with, Robert Redford stands out as a pivotal presence in her artistic journey.

Reflecting on their time together, Johansson has described the experience as profoundly transformative, a moment that helped shape her approach to acting and storytelling in ways that still resonate today.

Scarlett Johannson opens up about her experience being directed by the late Robert Redford at a young age: "It was transformative for me." | Popverse

Johansson first encountered Redford during the filming of The Horse Whisperer in 1998, a role that came early in her career when she was only a teenager. At the time, she was still discovering the intricacies of performance, and working alongside Redford — a seasoned actor and acclaimed director — was an education unlike any other.

The film itself tells the story of a young girl who, after a tragic accident, embarks on a journey of healing with the help of a horse trainer played by Redford. But beyond the story on screen, Johansson found that working with Redford opened her eyes to a deeper understanding of the craft.

Redford’s directorial style was notably gentle yet firm, a combination that fostered both security and creativity. Johansson recalls how he never imposed his vision aggressively but rather encouraged actors to find their own truth within the character.

For a young actor like Johansson, this approach was revolutionary. “It was transformative for me,” she said in a recent interview, “because he trusted me to discover the character on my own and didn’t micromanage every moment.” That trust instilled a confidence in Johansson that she carried forward throughout her career, giving her the freedom to experiment and grow.

What made the experience particularly impactful was Redford’s respect for the emotional depth of the story and for the actors involved. Johansson has often described the atmosphere on set as one of mutual respect and calm focus. Redford treated her not as a child actor but as a serious collaborator, which created a safe space for her to explore difficult emotions authentically.

This kind of environment, Johansson notes, is rare for young performers navigating Hollywood’s pressures. “He didn’t rush me or dismiss my feelings,” she shared. “Instead, he created an atmosphere where I could be vulnerable and that vulnerability was honored, not exploited.”

This nurturing environment had a profound influence on Johansson’s artistic sensibilities. She began to understand that acting wasn’t just about delivering lines, but about inhabiting a world — feeling the nuances of a moment and responding truthfully.

"It Was Transformative For Me" - Scarlett Johansson On Working With Robert Redford

Redford’s emphasis on subtlety and emotional honesty became a model for her own work. “He showed me that the power of a scene often lies in what’s left unsaid,” Johansson reflected. “The silence, the looks, the small gestures — those are what make storytelling real and compelling.”

The physical setting of the film also played a role in this transformative experience. Filmed largely in the vast, natural landscapes of Montana, The Horse Whisperer required Johansson to connect deeply with her environment. Redford, an advocate for naturalism in filmmaking, encouraged the cast to interact authentically with the surroundings.

For Johansson, this meant learning to observe and respond to the world beyond just the script. “He wanted us to feel the air, the earth, the horses — everything was part of the story,” she said.

This holistic approach to storytelling enriched Johansson’s appreciation for the craft, teaching her that every element on screen contributes to the emotional texture of a film.

In the years since, Johansson has credited her work with Redford as a foundation for her evolving artistry. The lessons she learned during The Horse Whisperer helped her navigate the challenges of later roles, including some of the most complex and high-profile projects of her career.

Whether portraying an action hero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe or a conflicted character in an intimate drama, Johansson has carried the values of patience, respect, and emotional truth that Redford imparted. “That experience shaped how I approach every role,” she explained. “It taught me to slow down, listen, and trust my instincts.”

Beyond the technical aspects of acting, Johansson also admired Redford’s humility and commitment to storytelling. Despite his legendary status in Hollywood, he maintained a grounded and collaborative attitude.

This was especially important for Johansson, who as a young actress was learning how to navigate an industry often characterized by ego and competition.

“He was generous with his time and knowledge,” Johansson remembered. “He never made me feel less because of my age or experience. That humility was inspiring and something I try to embody myself.”

Their professional relationship eventually blossomed into a quiet mentorship, one that Johansson has spoken about with gratitude and affection. Though their paths diverged after The Horse Whisperer, the lessons and memories have stayed with her.

When Redford announced his retirement from acting, Johansson expressed public admiration for his career and the impact he had on her. She described him as “one of the great teachers” in her life, someone whose influence helped her become the artist she is today.

Johansson’s reflection on this chapter in her career also speaks to a broader truth about the importance of mentorship and nurturing in creative fields. The entertainment industry can be harsh, especially for young talent.

But positive experiences, like her work with Redford, can provide a crucial counterbalance — an environment where emerging artists feel valued, trusted, and supported. “Not everyone gets that kind of experience,” Johansson said. “I’m deeply grateful I did. It changed the way I see my work and my place in the industry.”

The transformation Johansson refers to isn’t just about acting technique or career growth; it’s about personal development. Working with Redford helped her realize that storytelling is a profound human act, one that requires empathy, patience, and courage.

It also instilled a sense of responsibility — to the story, to the audience, and to oneself as a creator. “It taught me to respect the power of film,” she said. “To understand that it’s not just entertainment, but a way to connect, to heal, to reveal something true about the human experience.”

Looking back, Johansson sees that early experience as a cornerstone of her artistic identity. The lessons she absorbed from Redford have echoed through every project since, from the quiet indie films that showcase her subtlety to the blockbuster spectacles that highlight her versatility.

“Working with him was more than just a job,” she reflected. “It was a formative moment that reshaped how I see my craft, my purpose, and myself.”

In a career filled with remarkable moments, Johansson’s time with Robert Redford remains one of the most meaningful. It serves as a reminder of the power of mentorship, respect, and thoughtful guidance — qualities that continue to inspire her as she creates her own legacy in the film world.

Ivana is the daughter of novelist Lady Caroline Blackwood and granddaughter of one of the ‘golden Guinness girls’ Maureen, Marchioness of Dufferin and Ava.

It was her who came up with the idea for the House Of Guinness, after being inspired while watching Downton Abbey to tell her family’s own ‘juicier and more interesting’ story.

She wrote a 20-page television treatment of the story of her ancestors, which has now been brought to the screen by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight.

Speaking to The BBC this week, Ivana explained that she had created the character of Sean Rafferty, a handsome brewery foreman played by James Norton, to provide ‘the conflict and the passion that makes a story interesting’.

She explained her desire to do her ancestors justice, admitting: ‘I didn’t want them to be villains, but any business person has to be ruthless, especially in those times.’

But she also insisted that today’s Guinness family were not bothered by her airing the dirty laundry of their predecessors, saying: ‘We are not high and mighty about our reputation, we have a very good sense of humour about ourselves’.

Speaking about working with Ivana to create the gritty eight-part series, Steven gushed: ‘Ivana is an absolute mine of information and untold stories about the family going back years.

House Of Guinness will chronicle the extraordinary success of the family behind the famous Irish brewery.

But behind the story of wealth and prosperity lies a tragic tale of seemingly endless misfortune for the family.

From Tara Browne, who died following a car crash in South Kensington, to scandalous affairs and divorces and the tragic drowning of Honor Uloth aged just 19 in 2020, the family seems to have been dealt a series of devastating blows.

The personal losses faced by the Guinnesses have become so infamous that it is thought to be ‘cursed’, despite holding a fortune of over £900million today.

Speaking about the show, creator Steven commented: ‘The Guinness dynasty is known the world over – wealth, poverty, power, influence, and great tragedy are all intertwined to create a rich tapestry of material to draw from.

‘I’ve always been fascinated by their stories and am excited to bring the characters to life for the world to see.’

House Of Guinness is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on Thursday, September 25.

A molar pregnancy occurs when a lump of abnormal cells grows in the womb instead of a healthy foetus.

The following year she was told about her second miscarriage at her 20-week scan, and she had to give birth to her child – and she really struggled to look at herself afterwards because it looked like she was still expecting.

Speaking about her heartbreaking ordeal, Rebecca bravely told ITV viewers: ‘I was angry at my body, my body let me down, it didn’t give me that: “This is going wrong! Go get help!”

‘It didn’t tell me anything. I had no symptoms. That was really hard to get over, and afterwards as well, you still look pregnant.

‘That is very hard to deal with, the fact that you give birth, the baby isn’t alive, and then you go home, you have to look in the mirror as a woman and still look 20 weeks pregnant.

‘It’s incredibly hard. I hated my body, I fell out of love with my body, even though my human body delivered two healthy children, four Olympic gold medals and yet I just couldn’t understand why it had let me down now.

‘And the second time as well. It’s hard the second time around.’

During the interview, Andy gave the partner’s perspective, and he said: ‘well straight away my role was the supportive role, I was supporting Becky from the off, when it happened.

‘From there, all energy and thoughts are with Becky, its her body, her trauma, it’s her issue essentially with what’s happened.

  • Demi Moore Electrifies Milan Fashion Week in Jaw-Dropping Gold Gown, Joining Gwyneth Paltrow and Lila Moss to Unveil Gucci’s Bold, Sexy New Era in Stunning Short Film Premiere – A Night to Remember! – News

As Gucci launches its exciting new era under creative director Demna, it kicked off Milan Fashion Week in style with the premiere of an eye-catching new short film.

And Demi Moore, Gwyneth Paltrow and Lila Moss were among the big names making their arrival in the Italian hotspot to celebrate the film’s release on Tuesday.

The actress, 62, turned heads as she arrived in a timeless gown with gold and burnt orange embellishments covering the dress.

Gwyneth, 52, took inspiration from the iconic designer with a head-to-toe outfit in Gucci’s iconic print as she posed ahead of the showcase.

Lila, 22, who just hours earlier had graced the front row at the Burberry show in London, opted for an edgy black leather mini skirt and matching snakeskin boots.

Finishing her outfit with a chic black jumper, Lila accessorised with a matching handbag as one of the first arrivals at the screening.

Demna, who is the former creative director at Balenciaga, has only been at the helm of Gucci for a few weeks, and his first collection was quietly launched just hours before The Tiger’s premiere.

The film has been director by renowned filmmaker Spike Jonze and Halina Reijn, and stars Oscar nominee Demi.

Speaking about his new era as head of the brand, Demna called the debut collection ‘unapologetically sexy, extravagant, and daring.’

‘The collection named La Famiglia marks Gucci’s return to storytelling, going back to the future by way of the past, defining the aesthetic based upon which Demna’s Gucci vision will be built, leading up to his first show in February [for the Autumn/Winter 2026 season],’ a press release announcing the collection said.

No doubt it’s a stark contrast to the previous creative director Sabato de Sarno’s more restrained style, which focused on refining the everyday wardrobe.

‘It’s a borghese [bourgeois] version of Demna, with very clear silhouettes’, fashion consultant Dryce Lahssan told Vogue Business.

‘Demna is a master of storytelling. Everyone can relate to a character of the Gucci family. With this first collection, he is taking ownership of Gucci’s heritage; reinvention has not yet begun. Still, it marks an exciting moment for the house.’

The star – worried her essential device could get lost – added: ‘I even have an Apple AirTag to follow it around with my phone.’

Speaking about her condition in 2020, she told The Kit: ‘I think not many people know that I have diabetes. It’s not visible from the outside, so no one would really know just by looking at you.’

She said: ‘I have some sugar tablets, in case my blood sugar goes low. I’m diabetic, so I have this, which controls a pod on my leg, which gives me insulin.

‘This is very important to keep in my bag, it comes with me everywhere.’

  • Strictly in Crisis! Second Celebrity Quits in Shock Exit Just Weeks After Thomas Skinner Scandal – Viewers Furious, Producers Scrambling to Save Show From Complete Collapse in Explosive Backstage Fallout – News

Strictly Come Dancing was plunged into turmoil last night as one of its biggest stars was forced to quit after sustaining a serious injury while training.

Former Love Island contestant Dani Dyer, 29, was left ‘heartbroken’ as she had to pull out of the dance competition after fracturing her ankle during rehearsals.

Her withdrawal adds yet more pressure to Strictly bosses – actor Kristian Nairn quit the series for medical reasons just last month.

The beloved BBC series also came under fire earlier this month when contestant Thomas Skinner stormed out of a press conference, bringing his appearance on the show into question by viewers.

Ms Dyer, the daughter of Rivals actor Danny Dyer and wife to England footballer Jarrod Bowen, issued a statement on Tuesday, saying: ‘I had a fall on Friday in rehearsals and landed funny.

‘I thought I had rolled my foot but it swelled up badly over the weekend and, after an MRI scan yesterday, it turns out I have fractured my ankle.

‘Apparently doing the quickstep on a fracture is not advisable and the doctors have said I am not allowed to dance, so I’ve had to pull out of the show.

‘To say I’m heartbroken is the biggest understatement,’

It was revealed during Saturday’s launch show – which was recorded before her fall – that the reality star would be partnered with pro Nikita Kuzmin, 27.

She was set to dance a quickstep in the first of the live shows against her fellow celebrities this Saturday.

‘I am so going to miss dancing with Nikita but will of course be watching closely and cheering all the couples on,’ Ms Dyer added.

Just days ago, the mother-of-three said: ‘I’m absolutely petrified about dancing live.’

The second blow to bosses comes weeks after Mr Nairn’s exit.

The Game Of Thrones star, 49, said: ‘With a heavy heart, I have to step back from this season of Strictly Come Dancing. I was truly looking forward to the journey, and I’m deeply sorry to disappoint anyone who was looking forward to seeing me on the dance floor.

‘Thank you all for your support and I will be back on my feet very soon, in every sense.’

Dani confirmed the news after the Daily Mail broke the story and said: 'I had a fall on Friday in rehearsals and landed funny. I thought I had rolled my foot but it swelled up badly over the weekend and after an MRI scan yesterday, it turns out I have fractured my ankle'

And his replacement, Emmerdale star Lewis Cope, has been criticised by fans for his extensive dance experience.

The actor has starred in the West End’s Billy Elliot and even made the final of Sky’s Got To Dance series in 2013 aged 18.

However, Mr Cope’s Strictly partner, Katya Jones, insists his background is actually a ‘hindrance’.

She told the Radio Times: ‘I think everyone’s aware that Lewis can move and I’m looking forward to turning him into a ballroom dancer. But unlearning habits is harder than blank-canvas learning.’

In reply to the criticism, Mr Cope also said: ‘I haven’t worn a pair of tap shoes in17 years.’

Meanwhile, The Apprentice star Thomas Skinner – who is paired with Strictly pro Amy Dowden – has also been hit by scandal after he last week admitted cheating on his wife Sinead just weeks after their wedding in 2022.

He claimed the affair was a ‘moment of madness’ that saw him almost ‘ruin his life’.

It was not clear last night whether the BBC plans to replace Ms Dyer ahead of this weekend’s first live shows.

Sarah James, executive producer at BBC Studios, hailed the injured star. She wrote: ‘Dani has brought so much passion, joy and enthusiasm to Strictly, and her partnership with Nikita was off to the most sensational start.

‘Everyone on the show is incredibly sad that she’s no longer able to compete… We send her all our love and best wishes for a swift recovery, and we very much hope to welcome her back to the ballroom in the future.’

In 2019’s competition, fellow reality star Jamie Laing was forced to pull out after injuring himself in the week before the first live show.

His last-minute replacement, Emmerdale actor Kelvin Fletcher, went on to lift the glitterball trophy with dance partner Oti Mabuse.
